John C. Kannard, R.L.S. and Albert R. Melbard, P.E., R.L.S. in 1995 as Southwest Surveying & Engineering, Inc. John Kannard purchased Albert R. Melbards interest in the company in 1996. The name was changed to Southwest Surveying & Associates, Inc to more accurately reflect the current business model. Southwest Surveying & Associates, Inc began as, and remains a small privately-owned company. We made this decision to maintain our high standards and quality of service.

Since that time, our client base and the services we offer have grown tremendously. Our clients include property owners, construction companies, attorneys, engineering companies, local municipalities and State and Federal Agencies. Our success is a result of dedication to finding the most accurate results for each and every one of our clients.

John is a member of the Wisconsin Society of Land Surveyors and a member of the Society of Southeastern Wisconsin Land Surveyors, Inc., John also stays current with constantly changing technology, laws and surveying practice procedures, by attending numerous continuing education seminars. He also actively serves on many Wisconsin Society of Land Surveyors committees, including:

• Standards Review Group
• Water Issues Committee
